Toyota has started recalling few 2006 Highlander models. Other vehicles like 2005-2006 Avalon, 2004-2006 Lexus RX, and 2006 Lexus GS were also affected in the recall along with Highlander.
Normally, brake fluid consisting of polymers, is used in the vehicle, which acts as lubricants for the brake system components. If the replacement brake fluids used in the vehicle don’t comprise of polymers, rubber seal positioned at the rear of brake master cylinder can get dry and inturn lead to leakage of brake fluid.

Consequences
Brake fluid leakage leads to brake pedal change and that degrades the braking performance.
Remedy
